Blood in the Badlands. Game three. "Frogs legs are back on the menu boys!".

This Sunday last saw Anthony and I play an 1500 point game of WHF to contest another tile of the Badlands.

I had completely forgotten he was not fielding Lizardmen and had a lovely surprise when he plonked down 1500 points of nearly finished but beautifully painted Lizardmen.

Path to Glory. Tzeentch Vs Papa Nurgle

Just a quick battle report of a Path to Glory skirmish Anthony and I managed to squeeze in after our 'Blood in the Badlands' game last Sunday (that battle report to follow!).

As you can see above I still need to Finish off 'Grundog the Shunned' and my new Chosen of Chaos but on the whole the warband are coming together nicely.

Nurgle are happy to stand back in the opening turns and have me advance into the diseased jaws of death.

Then in a quick counter strike smash into my Chaos hounds!

The battle is fast and furious and despite pulling down two Beastmen my hounds bolt for the back table edge and will not take any further part in the battle.

Nurgle are about to learn fear of the 'Blue fires of Tzeentch' when both his Minotaur and a unit of Beastmen disappear in flashes of incandescent warp fire!

In order to stop any more direct damage spells, Nurgle charge into my forces!

My Ogre is also mob stomped when the Nurgle Chosen flank charges him after over running my Chaos hounds.

In one of the strangest combats Anthony and I have ever witnessed both our units of Chaos Warriors fail to cause any wounds on each other and then my warriors decide to flee despite not suffering a single casualty (on leadership eight!!), just because they were charged!

In order to save face before the eyes of the Chaos Gods Scarblade the Immortal stands ready with his bodyguard to face the Nurgle charge. . . . . .

. . . . but Scarblade is deserted by his gods and my entire Warband is wiped out!!

The battle was fast and furious and Anthony earned twelve favour points thanks to the massacre of my warband!

I only earned 6 favour points in return so will not be expanding my warband any time soon!

75,000 hits and apparently I'm big in Russia!!

I woke up this morning to find this silly little corner of the internet had managed 75,000 hits.

I know a lot of hits are from bots but they can't all be (can they?).

And a mile stone is a mile stone so  . . . . . Yay me!

Gun smoke at the Creative Biscuit, South Woodford

Busy night at the Creative Biscuit last Thursday

There was our first outing of Guildball . . . . .

Once again we had folks trying to survive 'The Dead of Winter' . . . . . .

And Macca had his first taste of 'Legends of the Old West' . . . . . .

Also here is a close up on one of the recently finished TT scenic buildings which I ordered at Salute.

My painting skills can not match the paint jobs I have seen online and my efforts always look a bit too 'toyey' (is that even a word?), as shown by the Saloon and carriage above.

For this reason I pulled out some scenery stuff from the 'cupboard of shame ' and got busy with the super glue.

After a happy half hour (probably due to the fumes) and 30 odd minutes with the brush I ended up with this. . . . . .

Much happier with the result and the rest of the buildings will probably get the same treatment.

All in all a top night at the Biscuit and looking forward to the 15th of June!

Blood in the Badlands. Game two.

Captain Guthook surveyed the battle field and snorted at the pitiful sight of the Skaven horde before him. How had this walking buffet bested his Slaughtermaster?

Surrounded by his personal body guard he felt invincible. Soon the Badlands would be added to his growing empire. All the world would tremble at the approach of the Guthook tribe. First he just had to get his remaining hand on that bloody flying tower thingy!

Legends of the Old West. Good guys wear black.

Finished up the last of my Lawmen for my brother yesterday.

Here are 'The long arms'.

Once again they are Black Scorpion efforts and are a collection of their 'Earps', 'Tombstone' and 'Sheriff' ranges.

And once again I think they look the business considering they are only ink washed and line edged.

Speaks volumes about the quality of the sculpts!

Kris' deputation stands at six miniatures but I have painted up seven just in case.

Also have a 'lynching' planned for the game Thursday at the Creative Biscuit so I need up to a dozen towns folk to get in the way during the shootout.

For that reason the two below got an hour with the brushes.

Both are Foundry efforts. They are old skool 28mm which means they are much smaller then the heroic scale miniatures but their smaller statue fits with their 'diminutive' stature so it all works out.

Now the numbers

Miniatures painted / sold this year = 142

Miniatures bought 95
371 miniatures to go!

Blood in the badlands campaign. Game one. Immovable object Vs Irrestable force

Last Sunday saw the 'blood in the Badlands' campaign kick off with Lano, Lee, Anthony and myself in attendance.

Game one would see Lee's Orc's and My Ogre's lock horns for no other reason then we had brought 2000 point armies!

Battle in the Badlands!

Having a nightmare with the computer at the moment so this is just a quick post of the photos from a game Lee and I had Sunday.

It was a siege battle so we could both get our eye in for the upcoming campaign.

And now for something completely different!! Legends of the Old West!!

So here is the (sort of) big TA - DAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

With the conclusion of the 'Shortshank redemption', Mordheim campaign with my brother, we decided we needed a small diversion before we headed into the west of Mordhiem with our new warbands.

With all of Kris' warband named after Wild West characters I had to show him this (LINK).

And that was that!

Then I got into a conversation with 2Key at the Creative biscuit last Thursday and he was in too.

So that REALLY was that!

So here for your viewing pleasure is my Outlaw posse 'The Dayo' gang.

Seven men full of bad intentions
And here is where they will probably end up in the campaign!

The cool thing is, with the exception of two kits bought from 4Ground at Salute, I had all the terrain and random bits I needed to speed build my rail head town, 'Lago'.

Below are the first of the 'fine' townsfolk of Lago, or are they a  town with something to hide?

Could all be revealed during the campaign?

All the figures to the rear are Reaper efforts and with the exception of 'Big Bess' the barmaid, all the miniatures were originally painted up for other projects.

'Boot Hill' is a piece of terrain I am particularly pleased with as it is completely scratch built.

Here is how it looked before it was painted up.

The 'Mayor' and 'Deputy' are Black Scorpion 'Tombstone' miniatures.

The 'building under construction' is a 4Ground effort and I really like it as it is built on split levels so you can use it as two single story buildings.

The 'hitching posts' are also 4ground efforts.

Lago even has a log cabin on it's outskirts.

And now for my posse.

All the miniatures are Black Scorpion 'Tombstone' efforts and are a mixture of their 'Outlaw' and Tombstone civilians sets that I picked up last week at Salute.

As I wanted them done within the week these were only painted to a basic table top level for speed. It is testiment to the quality of the sculpts that they look as good as they do considering they are just ink washed and edge highlighted.

The leader of my Outlaws 'The Duke' outside his abode on the edge of town.

Lago is a town of the grow. . . . . . . But at what cost?

Here another business is under construction in Lago, overseen by the Mayor and 'Big Bill' the owner of the local Saloon.

Is it me or are they looking a bit shifty?

I had more then enough Terrain to get Lago started and if you look carefully in the background you can see my brothers Law men, block coloured and hopefully finished by next weekend.

I ordered a TT scenics town set at Salute but that has yet to turn up. I have been assured by TT that it is being dispatched tomorrow so hopefully they will arrive soon and be painted up for thegame next week.

I would love to add the cliched bits like water tower, church, corral etc but with 'Blood in the Bad Lands' campaign kicking off for our summer offensive, time will now be very limited.

Hopefully my Outlaws shold get their first runout next week against 2Key's posse of Law dogs.

Now the numbers
Miniatures painted / sold this year = 126

Miniatures bought 45
373 miniatures to go!

Pleased the unpainted total did not rise too rapidly post Salute ;0)

In other news my computer had it's first 'blue screen of death' which is as bad as it sounds so I might be going dark for a while after this if my computer completely gives up the ghost. Fingers crossed it hangs on for a bit longer!
